Short, citation-friendly answers about how LinkVault works, what dofollow means, and how AI search engines discover your listing.
What is a dofollow backlink?
A dofollow backlink is a hyperlink rendered as a plain anchor tag with no rel="nofollow" attribute. It passes ranking authority from the source page to the destination, which is how search engines like Google treat the link as an endorsement that can lift the destination's organic rankings.
Is LinkVault really free?
Yes. There is no submission fee, no premium tier required for a dofollow link, and no recurring cost. Your listing goes live the moment you submit it.
How fast will Google index my listing?
LinkVault renders every listing as semantic HTML, includes it in the XML sitemap, and pings the sitemap on each build. Most listings are discovered by Googlebot within 24 to 72 hours; indexing then depends on the destination URL's own crawl signals.
Can AI search engines like ChatGPT and Perplexity see my listing?
Yes. Our robots.txt explicitly allows GPTBot, OAI-SearchBot, ClaudeBot, PerplexityBot, Google-Extended, Bytespider, and CCBot. Every listing is also referenced from llms.txt, the manifest AI assistants use to map a site.
Will my listing stay live forever?
Listings stay live indefinitely as long as the destination URL keeps resolving and follows our editorial guidelines. We do not expire links to extract upsells.
What sites get rejected?
Adult content, illegal goods, malware or phishing, doorway pages, expired domains, and obvious PBNs. Anything that would harm visitor trust or trigger a Google manual action is removed.
Can I submit multiple sites?
Yes, but submit each site separately with a unique description that explains what it does. Bulk identical submissions are removed.
How do I get my listing removed?
Email hello@bookedav.com from an address on the listed domain. Removals are processed within 48 hours and the URL is dropped from the next sitemap update.
Do you accept guest posts?
Not at this time. LinkVault is a directory, not a publication. For long-form placements, see our partner site Booked AV.
What's the difference between LinkVault and a traditional web directory?
Traditional directories often nofollow their outbound links or hide them behind JavaScript redirects. LinkVault renders every outbound link as a static dofollow anchor so the SEO value passes cleanly.
